Is that acne problem of yours getting you down? Well whoever said that you should spend the rest of your life suffering with a face full of zits right? As long as you are serious about finding a solution to that acne problem that you have then surely you will find an acne medication that will prove to be the most effective on your condition and skin type.

Some of the more popular acne medication available out there are usually made from salicylic acid which is believed to be the most potent type of chemical compound to treat acne – whether in small doses or in severe cases. There are loads of ways that salicylic acid can treat pimples, usually it helps in drying up a persons zits much faster so he or she need not worry about pricking it anymore.

This is why acne medication with salicylic acid can be bought either through creams or as soaps. This way your zits will get treated easily as it as the medication has direct contact on your zits. As salicylic acid is a very popular chemical compound that is used for acne treatments, products containing it can easily be bought over the counter, whenever your need arises for such anti-acne products.

Also, another great thing about products containing salicylic acid for pimple treatment is that it will not cost you and arm and a leg. In fact, in spite of being one of the most effective acne solutions available, it is also very affordable and accessible to practically anyone. Just make sure though that you apply just on the spots that needs treatment and do not put too much – not only does the acid stings but it can also cause your skin to end up having with unsightly craters. Yes, unfortunately while salicylic acid is a very potent ingredient in curing your, it can prove to be too strong that youd end up with ugly scars on your face. Just dont put on too much and make sure that you take note of the directions of use that is written on the package – make sure to do this with every pimple treatment/medication that is prescribed to you so that you wont end up doing more harm to your complexion.

Aside from getting medication for your acne problem, other things that you can do to keep your skin pimple free is to seek the advice of a dermatologist and have regular facials to keep your face squeaky clean. Its important that you also develop a good skin regiment to help protect your skin from breakouts and other skin problems. it is always much better to do preventative measures rather than wait for the last minute when your skin is already almost far beyond repair.

Another thing that you can do to keep your skin in tip, top, shape is to develop a healthy skincare regimen that you will strictly adhere to every single day. They say that Koreans are actually very strict about their skincare regimen with womens regimens reaching up to seven steps. This probably explains why their skin looks so impeccably smooth and their skin tone always fair and even.

Top 5 Acne Tips

These are the top five general tips for acne sufferers.

1. Stick With It – Almost all types of acne products, acne strategies, and diet changes are going to take a substantial period of time to take effect. There is no way you can expect to always see results the first day, or week of using a product. The time a product or strategy varies greatly, but if you are serious about using a product or trying out a new strategy, keep with it for at least a few weeks.

2. See a Dermatologist – If you are do not know what a dermatologist is, I will tell you. A dermatologist is a doctor who specializes in care of the skin, and skin ailments. As acne is one of the most common skin ailments, dermatologists are very familiar with the treatment of acne. I am not sure why, but people online often try to discredit dermatologist. If you are serious about treating acne, then schedule an appointment with a local dermatologist. They will usually prescribe a combination of skin creams and oral antibiotics that will help with your acne. You should be aware that the dermatology appointments and prescriptions will cost money, but this is the cost of seeking professional help.

3. Change Things Up – There are so many people who will complain to no end about acne, but change nothing about their lives. They will say things like, “but i wash my face 3 times a day” etc. It is simple logic. It apparently doesn’t matter if that person washes their face 3 times a day, this is not fixing their acne problem, they need to try something new. If you have been doing the same thing for a long time and still have acne problems, then change something. Try a new product, change your diet, you are the one who has to be proactive in fixing your acne problem.

4. Get Informed – It is amazing how people can view acne as a huge problem in their lives, but not know anything about it. It is a very good idea to get informed about acne and different reasons people have it. Also under this category is getting informed about acne products. If you understand these things you will be able to more efficiently take care of your acne. I will give you some examples. For some people acne is simply caused by clogged pores, they don’t clean their face enough, but personally I know that acne is a genetic problem for me and I will have to do more to fight my acne because it is not as simple as clogged pores. Also something that people overlook so often is the actual active ingredients in acne products. I once thought proactive might be a miracle product, but doing a few searches found that it was almost totally based on benzyl peroxide, a ingredient found in many acne creams.

5. Don’t Pick at Acne – While acne can be terrible now, for most people it is a relatively temporary problem. What people really want to avoid is acne scarring and redness. Picking at your active acne is one of the major causes of these. Also, generally touching your face will put dirt and grease on your face that can cause acne. Don’t touch your acne and try to keep your hands off your face.
