Acne, a common problem in many people, appears in several forms. Nodular and cystic forms are the more serious acne conditions. Even between these two forms, cystic acne is more severe one. This cyst can be treated and drained only by a doctor. This is known to last for weeks or even months. While there are many cures for this problem, one well known prescription is Accutane. If you want to use it, you need to first secure medical attention. Although Accutane is prescribed for most cases of rigorous acne, it is said to cause serious side effects too. Because of this situation, when this medicine is to be prescribed, the patient is expected to sign an understanding of the possible side effects after using this medicine. Unless such a disclaimer is signed by the patient, the prescription is not given. The Accutane side effects can be as ghastly as birth defects caused in unborn babies or even miscarriages. Many cases of still births and premature births reported are also strongly suspected to be due to use of Accutane. Because of these serious hazards, women who are pregnant or planning pregnancy are positively advised to refrain from seeking this medication. Accutane’s horror stories do not end here. It is also said to cause psychological disorders. Many people who used accutane have experienced depression, melancholy, anxiety, stress etc. These psychological impact is so strong that there have been reports of accutane-treated patients committing or attempting suicide. These are also considered as attributable to accutane. Other less terrifying side effects of this medication are also reported such as loss of appetite, body thin down, social aversion or loss of interest in socialization, anger and irritability. It is very critical that if a patient, under accutane treatment, experiences any of the symptoms listed above, he or she should consult the physician immediately. Unfortunately, severe acne becomes so acutely painful that people inevitably seek accutane treatment.

If you suffer from acne and cant find a way to get rid of it here are some fun tips to get rid of acne fast.

Make green fruit smoothies

What is a green smoothie anyway? A green smoothie is basically a mixture of fruits and a serving of green leafy vegetables. Green smoothies contain healthy carbohydrates, lots of vitamins, minerals, phytochemicals, chlorophyll, and an excellent source of fiber.

Simply mix and match your favorite fruits and vegetables and make tasty green smoothies making certain you use a little more vegetables than fruits. Types of greens you can include are any type of green leafy vegetables such as spinach, kale, celery, lettuce, turnip greens, mustard greens and so on. Whether you like them or not, they are good for you and easy to make. Make sure you drink at least one every day and after some time your body will be rejuvenated and will aid get rid of your acne.

I personally like to play around when blending my smoothies. If you make one that you dont like how it tastes just add up more fruit and you will be able to drink it.

Blending your smoothies can be enjoyable and will give you the chance to make new, healthy, and special drinks that you can share with your relatives and friends. If you dont know how to make them just do some research on how to make smoothies and you will get plenty of information in addition, you will get some good recipes.

Basically all you require is a blender, fruits, vegetables, and juice. It is better to add fruit juice than water for better taste. Slice the fruits and the vegetables in small pieces, put them in the blender, pour the juice, and blend. Viola, you have a yummy and healthy green smoothie!

How to get rid of acne – other tips:

- Drink a lot of water to keep your body hydrated. Water makes 60 percent of our body weight and all the organs of our body depend on it. It is essential for great well being and helps improve acne immediately

- Drink green tea. Green tea has a lot of antioxidants that combat acne causing bacteria.

- Drink natural berry juices because they are also loaded with antioxidants.

- Some consider fatty foods play a part on acne. You might have to cut down. It is not healthy to consume greasy foods anyway.

- Cut down on milk if you drink a lot of it. It is thought milk worsens acne. You can experiment with soy milk or other substitutes. Vanilla soy milk tastes good but you need to develop a taste for it at first. I have been drinking it for many years and now I cannot live without it.

Please find a way to get rid of acne naturally because it can continue for years if not treated appropriately. If you are going to use other acne cures try natural methods first rather than acne creams or any type of acne lotion.

I hope you find the above tips useful. Good luck to you.

Cystic acne causes deep cysts, inflammation, scarring, and much damage to the skin. Severe acne can sometimes require years of treatment but not in all cases. Almost every case of acne is treatable.

1. One the things you can do is take medication. An oral medicine called Accutane can be taken regularly for a few months. It helps treat cystic acne by reducing the size of oil glands permanently. Even though this medication can be helpful it has many side effects so make sure before you choose any acne treatment make sure you are educated about it. Some of the side effects are the following:

- Breathing Problems
- Chest Pain
- Depression
- Dizziness
- Fainting
- Yellowing Of The Eyes
- Severe Stomach Ache
- Severe Diarrhea
- Hives And Skin Rashes

2. When cystic acne becomes inflamed there is a high chance it will rupture and cause an acne scar. To stop this you can do is ask your doctor about giving you a corticosteroid injection to help treat cystic acne. This injection will melt your cystic acne over period of 2-5 days by lessening the inflammation and promote healing.

3. Another way to treat cystic acne is Isotretinion which is a potent drug for treating severe acne. It is a synthetic retinoid pill that is taken once or twice a day for 15-20 weeks. It is known as a top acne treatment because it treats all of the 3 things that cause acne. These are clogged pores, excess oil production, and inflammation. Even though this is a powerful product it comes with many bad side effects. The side effects are the following:

- Nausea or vomiting
- Severe pain in the chest or abdomen
- Dryness of the skin, eyes and nose
- Trouble swallowing or painful swallowing
- Severe headache, blurred vision or dizziness
- Bone and joint pain
- Nausea or vomiting
- Thinning hair
- Diarrhea or rectal bleeding
- Depression

4. A fourth way to treat acne is by using oral antibiotics. This has been used by many people over the years to treat cystic acne. Oral antibiotics work the same way as topical ones which work to reduce P. acne residue(a large factor in acne) on your skin which leads to inflammation. When You First start using it one you will use a high dosage but later on it will be reduced. Over time the P. acne can become resistant to the antibiotic youre using. When this happens you can usually be prescribed a different one. The main ones used in the U.S. are aredoxycline, erythromycin, minocycline and tetracycline.

Severe Acne Breakouts and How to Treat Them

Just when you thought you had cleared up your skin, you get start to get a pimple here, then there, and before you know, a wave of severe acne breakouts come right at you without warning. Trust me, Ive been there too and I know how frustrating it can get. Not only do acne breakouts inhibit our ability to freely go out and feel comfortable with ourselves, but we have to spend time again and again either reducing the appearance of an acne breakout or find some way to cover it up.

What causes severe acne breakouts?

Acne breakouts, especially severe ones, usually happen because of bacteria multiplying and infecting adjacent areas underneath the skin and within a clogged up pore. A pore that is clogged up can happen from exterior factors such as dirt getting in our skin or using a medication that is too dry for our skin or it can happen from interior factors such as toxic build up from certain foods or hormonal imbalance from something like stress.

How to treat severe acne breakouts?

Most people will tell you that if you have severe acne breakouts, or acne blemishes that resemble cysts, then you should go see a doctor or dermatologist. The problem with this is that they will usually prescribe topical or oral medications that usually only treat the symptoms, can have side effects, and do not address the root cause of acne breakouts.

One of the most effective ways to deal with acne breakouts, so you wont have them again, is to deal with acne through detoxification. You may not be able to cure your breakout overnight, but youll be able to treat it through a process which will be more beneficial in the long run. Heavy detoxification comes from cleansing the body from inside out.

What are some ways of detoxifying the body?

1. First, you need to start out by sacrificing foods that create a toxic environment inside your body system. Understand that beneath the surface of upper skin, there are skin cells that will eventually reach the top. When toxins are stored in these fat cells and find their way to the surface, it can lead to severe acne breakouts. Thats why its crucial to cut down on foods such as oily foods, fried foods, and sugary food that only encourage this to happen. The less toxic foods you eat, the less chances a severe acne breakout will happen.

2. Secondly, help your livers and kidneys cleanse your body system from inside by drinking lots of water a day. Water is the best natural source on earth that when consumed, can allow the body to naturally heal itself without human made medication. If you constantly suffer from acne, it is recommended that you drink at least 8 glasses of water a day.

3. Finally, using a juice cleansing diet to assist water hydration will help tremendously in cleansing out your body system. Its best to make your own juice through blended fruits and vegetables, rather than replacing it with something you bought at the store. For example a blended drink of apples and watermelons or watermelons, lemons, and oranges, will be a lot more effective than drinking a pasteurized drink. Also, youll absorb the energy and vitality you need from to get through your day.

This is a simple, basic plan of detoxification. I know it sounds strict now but a full-proof detoxification plan is even crazier. However, I can guarantee you if you just learn what it takes to clean your body through natural and internal ways, rather than over-the-counter medications, youll be a lot less likely to have severe acne breakouts and be happy with your skin.

Acne

Acne is a skin condition characterized by plugged pores (blackheads and whiteheads), pimples, and even deeper lumps (cysts or nodules) that especially occur on the face, chest and back. Acne caused by the overactivity and plugging of the sebaceous glands (skin’s oil glands) affects more that eighty percent of teenagers and preteens to some extent. However, the disease can affect people of every age, gender, and race.
People with acne frequently demonstrate lesions. The basic acne lesion, called the comedo, is a sebaceous follicle plugged with sebum, tiny hairs, dead cells and sometimes bacteria. Closed comedones with some pathological changes in pilosebaceous ducts (hypercornification of the duct) are called whiteheads. Open comedones that present when whiteheads reach the skin’s surface and touch air are called blackheads. Their black color is not dirt, but the melanin (skin pigment) that accumulates in the opening of the oil gland.
Other troublesome acne lesions can develop such as papules, pustules, nodules, and cysts. Papules and pustules are blockages of oil glands that are inflamed. Papules are red lesions (pimples). Pustules are pimples topped by pus-filled lesions that are usually red at the base. Nodules are large, painful, solid lesions that are deep-seated within the skin. They may develop additional infection and have the potential to produce long-term scarring. Cystic acne is considered the severe acne form. They are tender, sensitive, deeper, painful, pus-filled lesions that cause scarring.
The goals of acne treatment should include clearance of acne, prevention of scarring and, morbidity minimization. Patient education is the first and at times the most crucial step for effective acne treatment. It is essential to dispel myths that consumption of greasy food, potato chips, sugar and chocolates are responsible for the development of acne. The patient must be advised to cleanse the skin gently and use a non-comedogenic moisturizer. The patient should also avoid picking and rubbing the skin and using scented or harsh skin products. Other important preventive measures should include use of proper shaving technique and being consistent with the skin care regimen. Drinking more water can also help skin stay healthy. Evidence states that modification of the testosterone dose; dosing schedule or delivery method helps improve acne symptoms.
Patients with mild to severe acne can be treated with topical or oral medicines. Although systemic therapy is mainly used for treatment of severe acne, it is sometimes needed for moderate cases.
A variety of systemic agents used to clear acne include interlesional corticosteroid injection, isotretinoin, oral antibiotics (tetracycline and erythromycin) and oral contraceptives.
Azelaic acid, benzoyl peroxide, clindamycin, erythromycin, and sodium sulfacetamide are the prescription topical antimicrobials used to treat acne vulgaris in the United States. Several types of prescription topical retinoids used to treat acne include adapalene, tazarotene, and tretinoin.
